Mes de Acción contra el Hambre: juntos, podemos poner fin a la inseguridad alimentaria

Hunger Action Month calls us to action. It invites us to learn about resources available to fight hunger, support regional food banks and find meaningful ways to advocate for change in our communities.

Hunger isn’t just a statistic; it’s a neighbor, a coworker, a classmate, or a friend. That’s why it’s our job to ensure that, no matter how close hunger may be, help is always closer.

Ways To Take Action This Month

You can make a difference by supporting organizations working directly with families and individuals experiencing food insecurity.

  • Host or join a workplace food or fund drive
  • Support a local pantry or community organization

Every contribution — whether food, funds or time — helps ensure nutritious meals remain within reach for neighbors across Virginia.

SNAP provides monthly benefits that help families buy groceries. If you or someone you know is struggling to put food on the table, encourage them to apply through Ayuda Común or their Departamento de Servicios Sociales.
