Cómo ayuda este programa a las personas

The CPS central registry is a database that stores information on "founded" dispositions of child maltreatment. The time frame for retention of database information is established by the Virginia Administrative Code (22 VAC 40-700-30).

Las búsquedas en el registro se activan a petición de una agencia local del DSS, al recibir una firma notariada de una persona cuyo nombre se está buscando, o por orden judicial. La búsqueda determina si una persona, que puede trabajar sola con niños, está en el registro y si el motivo de su inclusión en el registro le impide trabajar con niños.

Cuando se encuentra un nombre, el Registro Central debe comunicarse con el DSS local para verificar la información, y la agencia local debe verificar y/o corregir la información.
