Junio es el Mes del Compromiso de la Paternidad, un momento para celebrar a los padres y el importante papel que desempeñan para ayudar a los niños a sentir seguros, queridos y apoyados. La participación en la paternidad fomenta relaciones padre-hijo positivas y activas y fomenta vínculos más fuertes con los familiares paternos cuando los Department of Social Services locales trabajan para apoyar la seguridad infantil y el bienestar familiar.
This year, VDSS is partnering with Fatherhood Foundation of Virginia, Depaul Community Resources and local departments of social services across Virginia to host regional events for fathers and their children. These events are free for fathers and their families.
Fathers can also join the celebration by participating in the Fatherhood Engagement Bingo game. Download the bingo card, complete activities with your child throughout the month and check off each box as you go. Once you complete a bingo, bring your completed card to an in-person regional event to enter a raffle for a chance to win $250 and other fatherhood items.
